The Scrap Exchange launches Artist Series Tours

The Scrap Exchange, a nonprofit creative reuse center, is launching the first of a series of artist tours to benefit their Capital Campaign.

The first of the Meet the Makers series will feature the work of husband-wife collaborators Mike Waller and Leah Foushee on Saturday, March 12, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Waller and Foushee will lead a mile-long walking tour that features 7 different sculptures created by the couple, including two animal sculptures, an agricultural piece, the Durham bull at CCB Plaza and three works on historic Parrish Street.

The tour begins at Liberty Arts, Inc. in the George Watts Hill Pavilion at 538 Foster St. in downtown Durham.

A wine and hors d'oeuvres reception will follow, along with an opportunity to meet the artists. The tour is limited to 30 participants and is $50 per person.

The Capital Campaign is a fundraiser with a mission to raise money to purchase a permanent location or building. Proceeds from this event will also benefit the Durham Liberty Arts, Inc. Reservations can be made via The Scrap Exchange.
